I always have loved 3D printing and when I took the 3D scanning class I now teach back in 2019, I was hooked and wanted to do something with 3D scanning people and animals. I ran into road blocks mostly from the Pandemic but I also needed to work on myself, sense then, I have transitioned from Male to Female and I have some 3D scans of me before and after my transition! That is the coolest thing I have experienced and want to share it with the world!

I started working on developing the Ico Scanner fall of 24 after really digging into photogrammetry and realizing this is the best way to 3d scan a person or animal of moving object!

I created the first layout of the scanner as a proof of concept that I could make that shape I wanted the scanner to be. I was also working on developing a triggering system for a DSLR camera that worked! But I couldn’t afford 100+ cameras that were about $500 a piece… so I started researching alternatives and found the ESP 32 Cam that is an ideal candidate for the project at around $8 a piece!!! Time to get to work and make this a reality!!
